East and West Coast meet up in Athens for a dream sailing holiday with Harris on the SYTethys

Our friends from East and West USA , the Pfleger's and the Joslin's finally make their dream holiday
a reality in Athens after a year of anticipation. Old friends met up and new friends were made with
Harris, Vasilis and Nikos.

We had a great time on the boat. - It was nice to meet Vasili and learn that he used the boat as a research platform.
He generously

helped us get our bags to the hotel after our cruise was over. The boat was comfortable and secure in
everything the Aegean Sea thought to throw at us. We even got the hang of two
hulls after awhile. I'm sure you've heard all the regular stuff about Harris: that he is
a good captain; uses local knowledge wisely; judges the capabilities of the boat and
crew before deciding where and how to sail; braves frigid waters to hunt octopus for
his clients and then makes his catch into a marvelous dinner; knows the good local
tavernas; and shares his sailing skills and knowledge generously. But has anyone
emphasized to you his patience and kindness? With four very different people
onboard, some in less that glowing health, Harris made everyone feel welcome,
assigned tasks according to capabilities (how DOES he know all that?) and taught
us plenty about sailing in the beautiful Greek Islands and ensured that we had the opportunity
to see some special things and have lots of fun. He is a good and kind and caring man and we feel privileged to have had him for our captain. Niko was there to help us get settled on board and welcome us back from our cruise. He really helped to smooth our coming and going. You two operate a very good service for us vacationers. I've attached a few special pictures from our cruise. Hope you enjoy them. Could you please show or forward them to Harris? Thank you. Meantime, I hope you're enjoying your time in Greece. abroad the SY Escape (ex Maria) of the Exas Fleet. It was truly our
best vacation ever, which is saying a lot for your arrangements.
Of course, sailing the Saronic Gulf and seeing the beautiful islands is a
pleasure in and of itself, but you made the arrangements palatable and
affordable for us. And best of all, we had the pleasure of meeting our
skipper, Kiriakos and enjoyed his company throughout the week.
He is a Master of allowing people to get the most out of this stunningly

Hi Thalea,
We are back home and have gotten back in the routine of work/family duties but will never forget our wonderful sailing vacation.. All of us felt it was everything and more than expected. We think our decision to utilize Catamarans rather than single hull and to sail with 2 Cats was the right decision for our group . The Captains, Harris and Vasili, were absolutely the greatest and were well matched with the group on each of the cats. Harris had us old-timers and Vasili was with the young turks. The fit could not have been better. Forgetting the first night's rough seas and some really sick "puppies", we all had a great time. Between Harris and Vasili, they knew just the right

restaurants, grocery stores and night life. We mistakenly mixed our groceries as we set sail all of the coffee ended up with Vasili's group. Harris was so kind as to swim over and capture a pound of coffee from the other boat for us. He also caught fish and had one of the restaurants cook it up for us at dinner. I could not have felt any safer than being with Harris on the Aegean and all that it had to offer. Vasili was always buying food and preparing a special Greek dish for the group. He was a wealth of information and kept the young people entertained both night and day. He pitched in just like one of the family. We all felt that both of these guys were very, very special and we were fortunate to have both of them.
Everything you and I planned together was waiting for us when we arrived and throughout the trip. Our real sailors and sailor want-to-best enjoyed the sailing experience while others of us favored arriving in port and investigating the different islands. Mikinos was of course a shoppers delight and our favorite. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Exas Yachts to anyone planning a Greek sailing vacation. J. Kimmons Some feedback you might want:

1 - We could have used more linens. You might consider an extra charge if necessary for a bed change and additional towels..
2 - You might leave a little more time for grocery shopping. Everything is strange unless you're Greek and it took quite a while to figure things out.
3 - It would have been good to have known there was no electricity or generator on the boats. That has a real impact on food, hot water, hair dryers, etc. We learned to deal with the hot water situation after a couple of days but I was taken back that we were still on battery power while we were docked.
4 - I would not recommend more than 3 couples on the 43 foot or two plan a single on the 38 foot. The numbers were just right for us.
5 - It would have been great to have had T-Shirts with Exas on them. It seems that would be a great marketing tool for you

the way you handled all the details during all phases of our charter. Thanks, also, from Tom and me for taking care of our transportation needs on the last day in Corfu.
What a memorable trip it was!!! Looking back on it, it now seems almost like a dream. To have seen the Ionians on such a beautiful boat, with such a great crew, was more than I could have hoped for."....." Harris to be a very professional skipper, whose first thought was always the safety of the boat and its passengers. 'we' " enjoyed the trip immensely, and already talking about a trip to Croatia. If it happens, rest assured you will be handling the details. I want to add a special comment about "Sinny". She was an absolutely joy to have on board as hostess....always willing to please. I still think of her smiling face daily. What a nice lady...perfect for the job. Attached you will find a few photos which I hope you will enjoy. "The charter was great. Gemini was perfect and our crew delightful. Now, the wind could have cooperated a bit more, but despite its erratic temperament, Makis, our skipper found lots of terrific options for us."
Your skipper services: Makis was a highly skilled, patient and easy-going sailor. He made even challenging winds seem easy. His sense of humor made for a relaxed atmosphere. His morning “meetings” to discuss our “options” gave us all a chance to make informed decisions about our course. He had lots of great suggestions for places to visit on foot and to eat. We felt we were in very competent hands and enjoyed his company immensely. In addition, our Hostess Syne was a joy. She was so warm. She was also a skilled and competent First Mate. Syne made delectable meals for us and made us feel at home on our boat. She too had lots of tidbits on where to eat and what to see on each island. They were a good team."
